Applications for 2023-2024 School Year are now open!

Before you apply and potentially accept a spot, you should know some background about our school. We are a public school option in the Juneau School District serving students ages 3 through 8th grade (tuition for students in PK3/4).

We hope you come to visit our school in person at one of our upcoming informational meetings on March 15 and April 4 at 5:30 pm. We also invite parents/guardians to schedule an observation of our school in action.

Call our office at 907-523-1848 to schedule a visit and see the range of classrooms from PK/K to grade 8.

Due to the possibility of more requests than available positions in the optional program classrooms, a Placement Process, approved by the District administration and the Board of Education, is used to determine classroom placement and balance. Information outlining the process can be found online here. The Placement Process details the Weighted Lottery rules that apply to Montessori Borealis, with weighted preferences given to low-income students or students who qualify for Special Education services to help us match the diversity of the district. Students who have siblings already in the program and who are children of employees also receive a preference.

Applications are due by April 21, 2023, to be considered for placement in the 2023-24 school year; families will be contacted in May. Applications received after April 21, 2023, will be added to the wait list or offered a seat if space is available, according to Placement Procedure criteria.
